MASSAGE THERAPIES

Despite now having been successfully practicing Traditional Chinese Acupuncture in my clinics for the past 3 years, I recently had become disheartened. I was aware that there were still people out there, who were keen to tap into the wonders of holistic therapies however, a fear of needles prevented them from taking the plunge and booking in for acupuncture treatments with me.

Then, having recently experienced the great healing abilities of reflexology following a back injury, I was keen to explore more into this type of therapy. It transpires that it very much aligns with a lot of the theory that I have been learning about in my acupuncture studies - i.e. it rests on the ancient Chinese belief in Qi (vital energy). Reflexology aims to keep qi flowing through the body, ensuring that it is balanced and disease free.

In Chinese medicine, different body parts correspond with different pressure points on the body, whilst Reflexologists use maps of these points in the feet, hands, and ears to determine where they should apply pressure. They believe their touch sends energy flowing through a person’s body until it reaches the area in need of healing - a form of acupressure really, just without the needles! Subsequently, I have now obtained my Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology after 12 months of study and clinical practice. Furthermore, with a new-found appreciation of the power of touch in relaxing the mind and body, I have now completed a Diploma in Indian Head Massage. These new therapies will now be offered at my clinics going forward, alongside my current acupuncture practice. Please see below for full list of services and prices....
